Olivia Wilde, Rachel McAdams And Many More Testing For The Silver Linings Playbook![]()
While David O. Russell has been known to go a little off-kilter on set once in a while, I can't imagine a single actor or actress who wouldn't want to work with him right now. The fact that The Fighter earned seven Oscar nominations is impressive enough, but what should make any hungry actor start salivating is that three of those nominations were acting-related and two of the nominees actually won. Now that Russell has left Uncharted and has seemingly committed himself to The Silver Linings Playbook, it is being reported that there is a meaty role for a young actress, and now the list of those testing has been revealed.
THR has discovered that some of the most popular/up-and-coming actresses in Hollywood, including Elizabeth Banks, Kirsten Dunst, Blake Lively, Rooney Mara, Rachel McAdams, Andrea Riseborough and Olivia Wilde, are all going out for the female lead in The Silver Linings Playbook. Based on the novel by Matthew Quick, the film stars Mark Wahlberg as a former high school teacher who is released from a mental hospital and tries to reconnect with his ex-wife. What he doesn't seem to realize, however, is that the widowed sister-in-law of his best friend, Tiffany, is in love with him. The seven actresses all are going out for the role of Tiffany, who is described as a "depressed woman who, when her husband dies, goes on a sexual spree, even at the cost of her job." Jennifer Lawrence may also be up for the role, but the site was unable to confirm that information. With the exception of Lawrence - who is simply too young to be a) a widow and b) a love interest for Mark Wahlberg - I think any of these actresses would be a great fit for the project. So let's pose the question, shall we? Who would you want to see hopelessly tailing Marky Mark around until he realizes that she has feelings for him? |
