One Minute Of Prince of Persia Eyeball Assault![]()
It makes sense that Spike TV tapped Jake Gyllenhaal to show off some brand new footage from Disney's Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, whose first video game iteration appeared all the way back in 1989. This new trailer shows off a pile of effects, some we've seen and some we haven't, and generally proves that, if nothing else, it'll maintain the high caliber of action that Jerry Bruckheimer et al. have been giving us since what feels like the dawn of time.
After seeing this trailer, it seems like Disney has done a pretty decent job weaving a story in among the relentless barrage of action and in-your-face CGI. One thing I do know though: I don't envy Jake Gyllenhaal one bit. I bet that dude had sand in places he didn't even know he had for the duration of this shoot. More like Prince of Persia: The Chafe of Time, amirite? For those interested, I've included a video from the original Prince of Persia game. You can see that the parkour-esque style was apparent even then. This was also one of the first games to employ motion capture technology. |
