Most of us don't know who Michael Sheen is yet, but that's probably going to change when Frost/Nixon comes out this December and, if all goes according to plan, earns him an Oscar nomination. And as soon as we get to know him as a Serious Actor, he's going to go off and join Tim Burton's crazy, crazy Wonderland.
Sheen has taken a role in Burton's Alice in Wonderland, reports Variety, though they don't specify which one. Doesn't the White Rabbit have a British accent? Or what about the hookah-smoking caterpillar? There are so many good roles in there to choose from that it's hard to imagine Sheen won't have the time of his life.
In the same Variety article there's the news that Sheen will have a part in the Samuel L. Jackson vehicle Unthinkable, about a nuclear terrorist attack in the U.S. It doesn't seem to offer the same crazy costume opportunities that Wonderland will, but it will give us more chances to meet a soon-to-be-famous Sheen with no relation to Martin and Charlie.
