BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR
What a thrill to see Lincoln and learn that Tommy Lee Jones was a surprise scene-stealer, stealthily establishing himself not just as that movie's highlight, but its best chance for an Ocsar statue. He's the closest thing to a mortal lock I see in this very crowded field, and the picture is nearly as rosy for Alan Arkin, who has a similarly showy, funny role in the massively entertaining Argo. Less clear is Robert De Niro, who's very strong in Silver Linings, but not a scene-stealer like the other two. He's got a pretty good shot nonetheless.
