There’s no reason for anyone to wake up before 5:30 in the morning. Well, unless you’re the lucky lady chosen to announce the Oscar nominees. Anne Hathaway will join Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Tom Sherak on February 2nd at 5:30am PT (8:30am ET) at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills to unveil the nominations for the 82nd Academy Awards.

Typically an Oscar-winning actor or actress is the individual standing beside the Academy president, but, in some cases, a nominee is chosen. Hathaway was nominated for Best Actress in 2009 for her performance in Rachel Getting Married.

As reported by Coming Soon, Hathaway and Sherak will only be announcing the nominees of ten of the 24 categories. The remaining selections will be distributed concurrently to any media attending the event and on the Academy Awards’ official website, www.oscar.com.

The nominations press conference is exciting, but it’s the big show we’re all waiting for. The Academy Awards will be held on Sunday, March 7th at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood and be televised by ABC Beginning at 5pm PT (8pm ET).
