Owen Wilson has started to wear out his welcome in American cinema. There’s nothing wrong with him, the guy just needs to jolt his career or maybe take a little break. Or, maybe he could make a movie about being unwelcome.
Variety reports that Wilson is set to produce and star in the comedy You, Me, and Dupree. Directed by “Arrested Development’s” Joe and Anthony Russo and written by Mike LeSieur, the comedy rips off the plot of a bad Sinbad movie (not that there’s a good one) and the life of Kat Kailin to tell the story of an unwanted houseguest staying with a newlywed couple. Presumably the newlyweds would like to engage in wild newly married sex, and good old penis nose stands around to watch. Hilarity ensues.
Universal wants to push this thing out the door soon, so with Owen’s next film The Wedding Crashers wrapping up, he should be on his way to the You, Me, and Dupree set in a couple of months.
