Own Cameron's House From Ferris Bueller's Day Off
If I had money to burn, I can't even begin to explain how much movie related crap I would start scooping up and property would be no exception. While my first target would likely be something like Xanadu from Citizen Kane, a more modest-yet-still-awesome option would be Cameron's house in Ferris Bueller's Day Off. If there are any like-minded individuals out there with cash to spend, today's your lucky day.
JoBlo has discovered that the famed house from John Hughes' 1986 classic comedy has gone on sale. Located at 370 Beech Street in Highland Park, IL, the house is currently listed at $1,650,000 and has four bedrooms, four bathrooms, the famous glass garage and sits on one acre of property. It should be noted that the famous Ferrari is not included with the house, but was on sale just last year, meaning it is floating around somewhere out there.
Apparently the house has been on the market for at least two years now, which is really a shame, but I suppose one of those things that happen during a recession. But when someone does finally buy it, the only question that remains is what do you do after you have both the house and the car? Part of me thinks that you're obligated to pay Matthew Broderick, Alan Ruck and Mia Sara to come over and kick the car out of the back of the garage. But, then again, I'm a freak.
