Palestinians Protest Dressed As Na’vi image
I guess after thousands of years of subjugation, you have to start getting creative with how you protest against your oppressors. And that’s exactly what a few Palestinians have done to show Israeli soldiers what assholes they are.

AOL News is reporting that this week, a small group of Palestinians staged a protest and continued their trend of including pop culture to grab media attention. Liana Badr, a Palestinian author and documentarian living in Europe, relayed the story of the oppressed Na’vi in Avatar to Haitam Al Khatib, a Palestinian protest organizer who frequently leads his people against the Israelis. Their plight is so similar to the Na’vi that Khatib and Badr thought using the film’s current status in pop culture would do well for their cause, and they were right.

Five protesters, three of which were Israeli, with the help of one makeup artist marched upon the barrier separating them from their farm land on the West Bank dressed head to toe as James Cameron’s blue creatures. Despite the fact that seconds after they appeared at the barrier, soldiers began launching tear gas at them, Khatib and his cohorts considered the protest a success simply because it drew so much media attention and awareness of the Palestinians' continuing struggles.

Check out the video below. It’ll probably make you feel less bad about being stuck filing TPS reports all day.
