Woody enjoys his last acting gig

Sometimes all you need is a change of scenery. Woody Allen got the heck out of town last year and filmed Match Point in London. The result was his first widely acclaimed work in over a decade, he even got Oscar consideration.

In fact, going overseas worked so well for Allen that he’s spending more time in Europe. He’s already filming his next movie Scoop in London, and now according to Variety, the quintessential nebbish New Yorker is heading to Paris for a third foreign filmed picture. The new movie will be shot entirely in croissant capital of the world, but it’s described as an “American movie set in Paris”.

Unfortunately there are no other details on Woody’s French Experience than that, not even a title. But Allen’s Euro tour isn’t done there. He’s also committed to shooting something in Barcelona, using a cast composed of Spanish actors.

This is great news for fans of Allen, this fresh perspective seems to be working wonders for him. Now let’s just hope he stays behind the camera and resists the temptation to do some acting.
