The word is out and people are outraged: Paris Hilton is in talks to take over roles once played by Marilyn Monroe. In an interview with MTV.com, she was asked: “Would you ever want to remake a Monroe movie like The Seven Year Itch or Some Like it Hot Her answer? “Yeah, there's some talk”.

Ok, that’s a little cryptic, but still the thought of Paris remaking something so classic is enough to make most film geeks panic. Except me that is. I think she’s perfect. Saying this in my house might mean I’ll spend the night on the couch, but Marilyn Monroe was a terrible actress. She was a vapid, brainless party girl who was successful only because guys (at the time) thought she was really hot. Who does that remind you of? I’ll give you a hint: Her father provides affordable lodging with comfortable beds.

Now The Seven Year Itch and Some Like it Hot are easily Marilyn’s best movies, and certainly the most tolerable on her resume. Paris Hilton is probably better suited for something less beloved, maybe she should try her hand at Bus Stop. But to put Marilyn Monroe up on this pedastool as if she was anything better than the mindless, whorish wasteland that is Paris Hilton is ridiculous. Though she wasn’t born into money, Marilyn Monroe WAS the Paris Hilton of her time and it’s only in absentia that she’s become so vastly overrated as a talent.

Paris Hilton to remake Marilyn? Sounds like perfect Karma.
