Having seen Funny People, and realizing that Aziz Ansari's Randy character really does play a tiny role in the movie, it's even more entertaining looking at the wealth of viral material about the character. Like the ongoing "documentary series" on Funny Or Die about the character, which goes into more detail about Randy-- excuse me, Raaaaaaaaandy-- than Funny People itself does about most of its characters.
The second part of the Raaaaaaandy documentary is online now, and it's once again a deadpan, faux-reverent treatment of a comedian who bears a pretty strong resemblance to Dane Cook. This time we get a look at Randy's process, which doesn't involve watching stand-up shows from old masters, but his own stuff. Oh yeah, he's that kind of guy. The best part is a look at the other comedians who traveled on the "Randy's Gonna Wet Ya" comedy tour, and basically suffer under the egomaniac's reign of terror. Check out the video embedded below, and look closely for Randy in Funny People when it comes out July 31. Unfortunately, his role is so small it might be easy to miss.
