At today's junket for Lakeview Terrace, I couldn't resist asking star Patrick Wilson about Watchmen. He, as most of us know, will be playing Nite Owl in the hugely anticipated comic book adaptation, but for a while there it was looking unlikely that we would ever see the performance, given the legal action 20th Century Fox has taken against Warner Bros to stop the movie's release.
But Wilson insists that's nonsense, and the movie will most definitely come out. "You're going to see it. Come on." Lakeview Terrace co-star Kerry Washington, also part of the interview, agreed, as the various journalists chimed in with statements like "It's called a settlement!" and "Of course!"
So there you have it, from Nite Owl himself. Wilson, of course, is not a lawyer from either studio, and I'm pretty sure the lawsuit won't instantly end just because he says it will. But as someone on the inside, and who knows Hollywood, he seems like the guy to trust. Don't make any plans for March 6; it's pretty likely you'll be seeing Watchmen.
