Paul Feig Planning A Comedy Starring Jon Hamm![]()
Though he may play it straight while performing as Don Draper on Mad Men, Jon Hamm is actually a pretty funny guy. Look no further than his arc on 30 Rock in which he played the handsome, yet dumb as a post boyfriend of Tina Fey's Liz Lemon. Sadly not everyone is aware at his gift for levity, however, but director Paul Feig is planning on fixing that.
The LA Times caught up with Feig after the premiere of his new comedy Bridesmaids - in which Hamm plays a role - and in addition to outing the Mad Men star as a "comedy nerd," he revealed that he is in the process of developing a project for him. According to Feig, Hamm has always wanted to do comedy and he's now planning to give him the opportunity. "One of the next things I’m developing a project for him to star in," Feig said. "I think he’s so funny. He’s like Cary Grant to me." The fact that Feig said "one of the next things" suggests to me that we may have to wait a while to see this project come to fruition, but I sincerely hope that he fast tracks it. Something tells me that Hamm's small role in Bridesmaids won't be enough. |
