Paul Rudd’s next movie will be called My Idiot Brother and he’s playing the idiot. According to THR it’s directed by Jesse Peretz who hasn’t done much else, unless you count an episode of The Electric Company. I wonder if they’re still doing the old “1 2 3 4 5 678910, 11, 12” bit. That never gets old.

The movie, as described by the Reporter has Rudd playing an “idealist dealing with his overbearing mother who crashes into the homes of his three ambitious sisters and, in succession, brings truth, happiness and a sunny disposition into their lives while also wreaking havoc.” Nothing about that makes Rudd’s character in any way sound like an idiot. Actually it sounds like the movie’s more about his mother and there’s very little in there about him at all. Not much of a sentence.
