Paul W.S. Anderson made last year's Death Race as a prequel, not a remake, for the original 1975 film Death Race 2000. So how is he going to manage a prequel to the prequel? Shock 'Til You Drop is reporting that Anderson is planning a Death Race prequel, to be written by Tony Giglio based on a story from Anderson.

In fact, Anderson might not even direct it-- Giglio, who recently directed Timber Falls, may be taking over this time. The story allegedly will delve into the past of Frankenstein, the driver played by Jason Statham in Death Race who-- spoiler alert!-- escapes from the maximum security jail at the end.
