Paul W.S. For Alien 6

Alien Vs. Predator made too much money. At the time I excused it as bad, but harmless, mindless fun. I was wrong.

Because AvP made so much cash, franchise destroyer Paul W.S. Anderson has been hired to write the sixth installment in the Alien series, at least according to UK Teletext and Dark Horizons. Anderson both wrote and directed the mildly successfully but critically panned Predator/Alien teamup movie AvP.

The only good news in all of this is that right now 20th Century Fox’s offer is only to write a script for the film, not to direct. There’s also no word on whether the script will involve Ripley, but if Sigourney Weaver has any sense she’ll stay far away from anything with Anderson’s stink on it.
