Pee-wee's Next Big Adventure Is Ready To Shoot![]()
Now that Paul Reubens seems to have been forgiven for his past transgressions, he’s been talking for awhile now about his desire to get a new Pee-wee Herman done. Actually it seems like it’s more than just talk. Pee-wee himself tells MTV “It’s already done, the script is already fully written; It’s ready to shoot.”
As for what it’ll be about, unlike the first two movies this one will be based entirely on his popular television series Pee-wee’s Playhouse. It’s a kid’s movie which Pee-wee says will take place in the world outside the Playouse. Says Herman, “It’s not really the real world, it’s Puppetland. On ‘Pee Wee’s Playhouse,’ on the television series we never left the playhouse, we were always inside the playhouse.” So even though it’s Pee-wee’s Playhouse: The Movie, “The movie is all out of the playhouse. There are two scenes in the playhouse, but the rest is out of the playhouse.” Pee-wee confirmed that Puppetland means a lot of interacting with puppets, but wouldn’t offer up anything beyond that preferring to keep the whole thing under wraps.
