Sure, we stilll don't think anyone actually cares about Tintin, Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson's massive vanity adaptation of a Belgian comic series that no one has ever heard of. But if you're trying to care, this casting news might make you perk up. As was rumored last fall, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost have been cast in the movie-- as twins! Get it, because they don't look anything alike, and they're funny, and....
Their role will be as the Thompson twins, who you see above-- crime-solving brothers who aren't particularly good at their jobs. I'd be a lot less interested in the casting if they'd paired a different set of mismatched actors-- Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger, anyone?-- but my love for Pegg and Frost together knows no bounds. Anyone who has seen Hot Fuzz or Shaun of the Dead knows what a joy these two can be together. So while Tintin still might be the most expensive movie ever to bore you to death, at least you'll have Pegg and Frost to keep you company.
