People's Choice Awards Choose Twilight Over And Over Again image
Tonight the People’s Choice Awards were held and, as they often do in politics, the people chose mostly things which weren’t good for them. Really, this democracy thing isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. I suppose we should consider it a minor blessing that Twilight exists, else most of the awards would surely have gone to Transformers 2. I suppose that might have been worse. Instead Michael Bay’s testicle swinging robots were shut out in favor of handing tons of awards to New Moon’s toothless vampires. Either way, it’s not a great time for women on film. You can either be Megan Fox’s cleavage or Edward Cullen’s helpless wench. Or I guess you could be Sandra Bullock. People seem to like her and she’s a take charge kind of girl even when she’s lying naked on top of Ryan Reynolds.

Below is the full list of 2010 People’s Choice Awards in the categories of movies and television. They also handed out some awards to people who make music, but I’m sure those were even awful, accepted largely by Australians wearing fake cowboy hats. Here’s the non-music winners:

Favorite TV Drama: House
Favorite TV Comedy: The Big Bang Theory
Favorite TV Drama Actor: Hugh Laurie
Favorite TV Drama Actress: Katherine Heigl
Favorite TV Comedy Actor: Steve Carell
Favorite TV Comedy Actress: Alyson Hannigan
Favorite TV Obsesssion: True Blood
