Peter Berg Goes To War![]()
Navy Seals and other highly trained military forces have a bitch of a life. Running around in dangerous situations getting their asses shot off is just no damn fun. Fortunately, if you succeed you are helping defend your country and if you fail you can write a book about it and someone will make a movie of your experience. Former Seal Marcus Luttrell is following the second route.
Luttrell led a small team to into Afghanistan to kill a Taliban leader. Unfortunately, as sometimes happens, the team was discovered and ended losing everyone on the expedition except Luttrell. He wrote a story about it called “Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of SEAL Team 10.” Variety says that the book will be turned into a movie directed by Friday Night Lights and The Kingdom czar Peter Berg. The movie will cut the title down to Lone Survivor and should be Berg’s next movie after finishing the drunken superhero flick Hancock. While anyone with The Rundown on their resume can’t be said to be faultless, Berg directed one of the best films of the decade in Friday Night Lights and trailers for The Kingdom look great, for what that’s worth. It appears the telling of Luttrell’s final mission is in good hands. |
