Philip Seymour Hoffman And Chloe Moretz For Let Me In?![]()
UPDATE: Overture Films has told Slashfilm that Hoffman is not in fact part of the cast, but didn't comment on the other names mentioned. They'll be announcing a full cast later this week, though, so stay tuned.
Internet casting rumors have a way of turning into a snake eating its own tail, with one site reporting another site's rumor, a third taking both rumors as fact, and before you know it Johnny Depp has been cast as The Riddler in Batman 3. Slashfilm is valiantly trying to untangle some of the rumor mess surrounding Matt Reeves' remake of the Swedish vampire film Let the Right One In, bearing the English title Let Me In. Apparently there's a substantial enough cluster of real-life and Internet rumors suggesting that Kick Ass's Chloe Moretz has been cast as the female vampire character Abby (renamed from the original's Eli), and Philip Seymour Hoffman will play an adult male role, though which one it will be isn't clear. It also isn't clear, to be honest, how true any of these rumors are, and don't be surprised to see one or both debunked as this news makes its way around. It has been reported before that The Road's Kodi Smit-McPhee will play the main character Owen (originally named Oskar), and that casting seems to still be intact. Moretz as Abby and Hoffman as Abby's keeper/father figure (named Hakan in the Swedish film) would be perfect. Only time will tell if this casting is legitimate or just wishful thinking. |
