Photobooth Trailer For American Reunion Brings Back The Whole Cast
It's strange to think that it's been 12 years since the first American Pie came out. That's 12 years since Jim tried to hide porn from his parents, 12 years since Stifler drank the pale ale, 12 years since Kevin got "the book" from his brother, and 12 years since Finch slept with Stiffler's mom. The original is still a very special film to audiences belonging to a certain generation, and while the two direct sequels and direct-to-DVD spinoffs did eliminate some of the charm, nostalgia is an asskicker.
The first "teaser trailer" has come online for the fourth theatrical film in the franchise, American Reunion. I put the words "theatrical trailer" in quotes because it doesn't actually show any footage, just a slideshow featuring the film's stars, including Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott, Tara Reid, Alyson Hannigan, Mena Suvari, Chris Klein, Thomas Ian Nicholas and Eugene Levy. Check it out below. Kind of makes you feel the need to wipe away a tear, no? The incredibly appropriate song being played over the video is "Laid" by Matt Nathanson, which was actually featured on the soundtrack for American Wedding. While it works well, I do kind of wish they chose something that would ratchet the nostaligia meter up to ludicrous speed, like "Here's To The Night" by Eve 6, "Graduation" by Vitamin C or "Time of Your Life" by Green Day. Both songs were released around the same time as the first film and would have resulted in me bawling while looking at the pictures. Oh well. Directed by Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, American Reunion is set to be released on April 6, 2012. |
