Pics And Report From The Hulk Set image
The Incredible Hulk has been shooting in the middle of Toronto all week, and Cinema Blend forum moderator Alex Brueckner walked out his front door and found himself in the middle of the Incredible Hulk set. He sent us a complete report of everything he saw, along with some really great pictures of an exploding bus. Apparently, mass transportation make Hulk angry.

Here’s Alex:

Well my brief little stroll down to the set of The Incredible Hulk in Toronto today was pretty awesome.

At first I went up to the north end of the blocked off street where I'd heard there was a wrecked bus (which there was, in all of its glory). I got a couple shots of it. Then I decided to head down a block and see if I could get a glimpse of anything, but instead of going back a block before heading down, I decided to go down this back alley (that is normally way too sketchy, but with all the people around I figure it's worth it). So I followed these two guys down the alley, and right through some pylons that are set up...

Well now I'm right in the middle of it. There was a huge crane with a big light on it, and another crane that had the camera on it. There was also a smaller truck thing with a camera on it as well. So I'm standing there in the mix of things with a bunch of people around me (a bunch looked pretty ordinary, some had headsets and were directing people around and shit, and there were several people with cameras) so I'm blending in pretty well, but I don't really know if I'm in the wrong place or not yet...

Well, a guy with a megaphone starts shouting "rehearsal's up guys!" and I end up realizing that all those regular looking folks are actually the extras. They get put in places, and a couple of guys with headsets start telling the people by me that they're probably going to be in the shot and we all back up a bunch. By this point I've definitely realized that I should probably not be where I am, and I was definitely not going to take out my camera... not yet anyway.

So they start the rehearsal "without the water", which starts with cars just driving along the street, and then there's a tire screech and a car backs in right across the street from me and bumps into something, and all the extras go running. I stood around a bit more while everyone got back into place and then they did the real take which was the same, except where the car backed into something, a jet a water fired out (obviously he was supposed to have hit a fire hydrant)...

At this point I'm like "fuck it" and pull out my camera. I had been waiting for something good, at which point the plan was to take as many pictures as I could. So I took a couple of the jet of water, and of the camera, and of some of the set, and random other shit (I got about 8 or 9 shots). Then this big black guy who was a few feet away from me (and who also had a camera) addresses me and asks me "who are you with?", and I'm just like "I'm on my own", then he takes a look at my lanyard (which just has my student card and res ID on it) and I'm like "that's nothing" and he just said "ok, could you back it up a bit, you're not supposed to be taking pictures in here"...

After that I just left (because "backing up" meant not seeing shit). I also discovered that the only reason I'd been able to get so close was because of that back alley I took. They had a barricade on the street just before the alley, but since I walked through it, I got to walk right past it.... and the only reason that alley wasn't blocked off was because there's a strip club on the stretch of road that was closed that wanted to stay open by letting people use the back door.

Take a look at all the pics Alex snapped from the set below:
