Pics Of Amelia Earhart Surface![]()
The rash of recent bio-pics spreading out of Hollywood perpetuates the myth that these cinematic re-telling of a "true story" is somehow all fact. But the phrase "based on a true story," does not mean that everything in the film is factual or that the movie will be good because it really happened. And if it really happened, it's already more compelling, right? Obviously, there is a degree of drama added into the story to sell it, and since the pictures of the latest biopic on Amelia Earhart drip with sentimentality, it's a good bet that this "true story" has been filled to the brim with melodrama.
The pics for Amelia first popped up on Film-Releases, but were quickly taken down. But an Ewan McGregor-obsessed Live Journal blogger quickly grabbed the pics and posted them. There's not much to speak of other than Hilary Swank gunning for another Oscar by making herself look unattractive. Ewan McGregor, Richard Gere, Virginia Madsen and Mia Wasikowska also star in the movie about the first woman to receive the Distinguished Flying Cross, a medal awarded to an officer or enlisted member of the armed forces who distinguishes him or her self in combat, and then disappear during a flight around the globe in 1937. According to IMDB the film is still shooting and looking at a 2009 release date. It is director Mira Nair's first major effort. |
