Planet 51 casts The Rock as the voice of a blonde American astronaut stranded on a planet full of aliens who are just like us. The gimmick here is that our human astronaut ends up taking on the role of an alien, in a world where he’s the weirdo. It’s not a bad idea and while I love the color-blind casting in hiring The Rock to voice a white man, I can’t help feeling that I’d rather see this as a live action movie with live action Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson hiding in some alien’s closet.
