Poster: Matt Damon And Morgan Freeman In Invictus![]()
Invictus remains one of the biggest question marks of the fall movie season. Even though it's based on a true story about the South African rugby team and Nelson Mandela and all that, no one really knows if Matt Damon or Morgan Freeman should be considered the lead, what exactly happens in the movie, and of course, whether or not it's any good. It's directed by Clint Eastwood and all, but sometimes you never really know what that's going to mean.
And the new poster for the film at Yahoo! Movies, while it looks good and all, isn't really providing any answers. Damon's in the front and facing forward, yes, but it's Freeman-as-Mandela who looms over the whole thing, as if he's created this whole world and Damon's just lucky to live in it. Also, that tagline-- "His people needed a leader. He gave them a champion"-- indicates that Damon's character, the rugby team coach, is just the guy who Mandela pulled out of a hat to make the country feel better. So again, no answers here. But it's a pretty good looking poster, so I'm not complaining. There's a bigger version of what you see below at Yahoo!. Invictus comes out December 11. ![]() |
