One of these days a decent movie will be released in the first few weeks after the New Year, and we can all finally stop relying on the assumption that, if it's coming out in January, it's either horrible or an Oscar movie finally going into wide release. Because that hasn't happened, though, I am fully prepared to avoid Crazy On the Outside, Tim Allen's directorial debut in which he plays a man released from prison into his own kooky family.
Coming Soon is premiering the poster, and you can see a smaller version of it below. It's pretty much exactly what you would expect from a crappy January comedy, including good actors who for some reason never seem to know better (what the hell, Sigourney Weaver and Ray Liotta?), a grandma and a smarmy looking kid, and a bunch of people photoshopped where they don't belong. It's a big fat mess, and honestly, I have no expectation that the movie will be anything else. Call me cynical, but I've sat through a lot of January movie screenings in the past... I think I'm just battle weary.
