Predators Ready to Attack Next Summer![]()
Let me just pause for a moment to remind readers that Predators is being directed by a dude named Nimrod. Pause. Okay, now that that’s out of the way, let’s talk about how awesome it is that the Predator franchise has finally been put in the hands of a couple of decently talented individuals. There’s Robert Rodriguez (on board as producer), of course, who seems to know exactly how to make an effective horror film. Then there’s Nimrod Antal, who directed Vacancy, a slightly cliché and illogical yet surprisingly competent thriller/horror film starring Luke Wilson.
Now Predators has an actual release. Fox has decided to put the new flick right in the heart of next summer. According to Hollywood North Report, Fox will release the movie on July 7, 2010. Written by Alex Litvak and Michael Finch, the movie will follow a group of humans who have become stranded on an alien planet. This alien planet, of course, is the home to the beloved predators. Fox must have a lot of confidence in the script and its director to give it a date like this. That means that the studio is really banking on Predators being a hit, which after seeing how Terminator: Salvation did this year, may be a stretch. But that doesn’t mean that the movie won’t be good. Audience just may be ready to move on from 80s sci-fi action flicks. |
