Prometheus Sequel Talks Are Underway image
Sir Ridley Scott’s Prometheus met with mixed results when it came out last summer. The movie earned a 74% Fresh grade on Rotten Tomatoes, and posted more than $400 million in worldwide ticket sales. But the movie’s more critical viewers were vocal and loud, pointing out the film’s assorted plot holes and unanswered questions as Scott swung for the fences with some of his “Big Theories” but left a few threads dangling.

The film ended with an obvious suggestion for a second chapter, though it was unclear if Scott would want to tackle the project. Today, however, Prometheus star Noomi Rapace tells as she promoted Dead Man Down that a sequel is underway. "They're working on the script,” Rapace told the site. “I met Ridley in London a couple of weeks ago. I would love to work with him again and I know that he would like to do another one. It's just like we need to find the right story. I hope we will."

When Prometheus ended, Rapace’s character, Shaw, and the android David (Michael Fassbender) had boarded a spacecraft and went in search of the Engineers to learn why they planned to destroy humanity. It was a huge question asked in Prometheus, and it seemed like the answer was being held for the sequel … so we really hope that it happens.

Getting Fassbender back would be key, and the actor recently
wrapped production on Scott’s The Counselor, so it’s possible he’d like to continue collaborating with the great director. Will they get screenwriter Damon Lindelof back? That might be a deal breaker, but we’ll see as the sequel progresses.
