A film described as a comedy, that also includes an end-of-the-world scenario has my attention from the start. It’s a Disaster has that and a growing list of talented actors, which now includes Rachel Boston. Boston’s been seen on both the big and small screens and now it appears we’ll be seeing her in this intriguing indie comedy.

Penned and directed by Todd Berger, It’s a Disaster follows a group of couples who get together for Sunday brunch, only to find themselves stranded with one another when the end of the world threatens to happen. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Boston, whose credits include (500) Days of Summer, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, and the USA series In Plain Sight, is set to play Lexi Kivel, a “whip-smart wildcard.”

Looking at the cast of the film. Boston’s placement is fitting as she’s among two other actors who’ve made names for themselves on both the big and small screens. Also set to appear in the film are Julia Stiles and America Ferrera. Stiles is known for playing roles in the Bourne films and 10 Things I Hate About You, and more recently played a serial killer sidekick on Showtime’s Dexter. Ferrera starred in the popular Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants films, as well as playing Betty Suarez in ABC’s gone-but-never-forgotten fashion-focused dramedy Ugly Betty.
