By now Rachel McAdams really ought to be the biggest movie star in the universe, given that she's already done the romance thing (The Notebook), the comedy thing (Mean Girls) and the action thing (Sherlock Holmes) better than pretty much anybody else. But while we're still living in a world in which there's no national holiday dedicated to McAdams, she's at least got the time to check off another one of those actor stations of the cross: the Woody Allen thing.

THR reports that McAdams is joining the cast of Allen's untitled next project, which will be shooting this summer in France. Marion Cotillard and Owen Wilson are already on board, fitting in the Allen tradition of throwing together a bunch of stars who don't seem to have anything in common, and more often than not making it work anyway.

A lot of people considered Allen's New York homecoming Whatever Works to be a disappointment (I kinda liked it myself), but with London-based You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger coming this summer and this next film right behind it, the European Allen renaissance continues.
