Rafe Spall Joins The Cast Of Ridley Scott's Prometheus![]()
You might not know the name Rafe Spall, but if you've seen a Edgar Wright movie you definitely know his face. But while you may know him as the phone-obsessed, asshole teenager who works with Simon Pegg in Shaun of the Dead or Detective Constable Andy Cartwright in Hot Fuzz, he probably won't be playing that same level of goofy in his next project.
The Daily Mail is reporting that Spall - who also happens to be the son of Timothy Spall - has joined the cast of Ridley Scott's Prometheus. The cast of the science fiction film, which may or may not still be a prequel to Scott's 1979 film Alien, has been quickly taking shape these last couple weeks, with Idris Elba, Sean Harris and Kate Dickie all signing on last week. Also already cast in the film are Noomi Rapace, playing Elizabeth Shaw; Charlize Theron, as Vickers; and Michael Fassbender as a still-unnamed android. The film is set to go into production later this month and is set to be released on June 8, 2012. My knowledge of Spall's work is fairly limited to comedy, though I do understand that he does have an extensive drama record as well. Still, maybe there's a little room for humor in Prometheus. I think it could be important to have someone break the tension with a joke after a bloody showdown with a xenomorph. |
