Ralph Fiennes Cast In Tinker, Tailor, Soldier Spy; Fassbender And Firth Confirmed image
It was reported in early June that Gary Oldman had signed on to play the lead in an adaptation of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, based on the novel by John Le Carré. At the time, Michael Fassbender, Colin Firth and David Thewlis were all in talks to join the project, which will be directed by Let The Right One In's Tomas Alfredson. While only two out of three of those actors made the cut, the film's newest addition is making the film sounds too good to be true.

Variety is reporting that Ralph Fiennes has joined the cast of the spy thriller, and has confirmed that Fassbender and Firth will also be in the fold (though no details have been given about who the three actors will play). In the movie, Oldman will play George Smiley, an aging former intelligence agent brought back in to service when suspicions are raised about a Soviet spy in their midst. The film is set to start production this October in London.

Just from the cast alone this is turning into a must-see movie. Add in the fact that it's based on terrific source material, has a fantastic man at the helm in Alfredson, and has already been successfully adapted with fantastic results back in 1979, what could possibly go wrong to make this film not work?
