Ralph Fiennes Prepares To Talk Like Shakespeare![]()
Ralph Fiennes has spent a long time working in the industry as an actor, and working with the kind of high-profile people pretty much anyone would wants to cast. And now that Fiennes is turning director, he's doing just that, calling in favors with some pretty hefty thespian pals. For his adaptation of Coriolanus, Shakespeare's play about a corrupt Roman general, Fiennes has cast William Hurt, Vanessa Redgrave and Jessica Chastain, who will star alongside Fiennes himself in the title role.
The movie begins filming in Serbia early next year, according to Variety. The Aviator screenwriter John Logan wrote the script for this one, apparently relieving Fiennes of the duty of adapting Shakespeare as well as directing and acting in it. Variety doesn't specify who will be playing what roles, and it's hard to see where Redgrave and Chastain will fit into a movie about Roman generals betraying each other. But hey, thank Ralph anyway, for making room for the talented ladies. |
