Breath a sigh of relief everyone. When Brett Ratner finishes shooting Rush Hour 3, it won't be another X-Men movie or Hugh Jackman's spinoff Wolverine. The mutants are safe for now. Instead, Production Weekly says he's making a heist drama for Eddie Murphy and Chris Rock.
The movie is about a pair of janitors at Trump Tower who plan a robbery which will allow them to rip off the building's tenants. Why exactly it needs to be specifically set in the Trump Tower and not just some random luxury apartment complex is beyond me, unless Ratner's fishing pretty hard for a Donald Trump cameo. Actually, knowing Rather, that's almost certainly exactly what he's doing.
To me, the really great thing about a project like this is that there's no way Brett can screw it up. The minute Chris Rock and Eddie Murphy were attached it was doomed. I love Chris, but he's a horrible actor and has no business doing anything except extremely offensive standup comedy. And while Eddie Murphy works in those crappy Disney kids comedies and as a talking donkey, outside of that the guy hasn't made a decent flick in well over a decade. Ratner can't possibly make the movie suck any more than it's already going to.
