No actor ever wants to get typecast, but it happens all the time. Sometimes they play a part so well that studios want them to play the same role over and over again. As creatively stifling as it may be, however, it's not easy making a career as an actor. Hence why Ray Liotta and Vincent Curatola are ready to jump back into the gangster genre.

THR (here and here) is reporting that the two actors are joining the already-stellar cast of Andrew Dominick's Cogan's Trade. The article also seems to confirm that Casey Affleck, Javier Bardem and Mark Ruffalo will be in the film which also stars Brad Pitt, Sam Rockwell, James Gandolfini, Richard Jenkins and Bella Heathcote. In the film, Pitt plays Cogan, a "professional enforcer" investigating a heist during a mob-run poker game. Liotta will play Mark "Markie" Trattman, the hustler who runs the game while Curatola will be a middle-aged man who, after being released from prison, seeks revenge.

I'm not sure this cast gets any bigger we might start calling it the sequel to New Year's Eve (can I get a roll on the snare drum, please?). The movie is currently scheduled to shoot this spring and will arrive in theaters in early 2012.
