Ray Liotta Set To Reunite With The Muppets In Upcoming Sequel

Ray Liotta may be known for his tough-guy characters ranging from dirty cop to gangster, but he does have a bit of a softer side that's exposed by The Muppets. In 1999 the Goodfellas star had a cameo as a gate guard in Muppets In Space and now he's set to join Jim Henson's fuzzy creations on another adventure.

Variety has learned that Liotta has signed on for an unspecified role in the upcoming Muppets sequel, joining other human players including Ricky Gervais, Tina Fey and Ty Burrell. The movie, which will be starting production this month in London in order to be ready for its March 21, 2014 release date, is being directed by James Bobin, who returns after directing The Muppets in 2011, and is based on a script co-written by Bobin and Nicholas Stoller (who co-wrote the last one). Both Gervais' and Liotta's roles may remain a mystery, but it was previously revealed that Burrell will play a lazy Interpol inspector," while Fey will be a Russian gulag prison guard.

Just a few days ago we also learned that Liotta will have a role in Robert Rodriguez's Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, but considering the projects are going to be in production at the same I wonder which one is going to be the smaller role. Personally, I would love to see him reprise this role in the Muppets sequel in some strange, funny way :
