In a few hours the Oscars will begin awarding Hollywood’s best work in 2009. Also they may give a few unwarranted trophies to Avatar, just because it made a lot of money. But last night something more important happened. The Golden Raspberry Awards, also known as the Razzies, stuck it to all the Hollywood assholes who forced us to watch horrible movies by awarding their worst of the year trophies. By now you already know Sandra Bullock won Worst Actress for her performance in All About Steve. We posted her acceptance speech a few minutes ago right here. If she wins an Oscar tonight, she’ll be the first ever actor to win both a Razzie and an Oscar in the same year. Sandra also had the dishonor of winning Worst On Screen Couple with Bradley Cooper. Other big Razzie winners (losers?) included Billy Ray Cyrus for his stunningly awful work in Hannah Montana: The Movie and more than a few Razzies for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen which, though it may not really have been the worst movie of the year, probably had it coming anyway.

This being the start of a new decade, this year the Razzies also handed out special “Worst of the Decade” awards. Those went to Battlefield Earth, Paris Hilton, and Eddie Murphy. That’s right Eddie, you’re no better than Paris Hilton. Time for a career change?
