MOVIE NEWS
Re- Transformation![]()
So, what is going on with the new Transformers movie? HollywoodReporter.com reported this morning (and everyone else on the web has been echoing) that Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci have officially been hired to write a script for the film. If that’s news, then Optimus Prime and his team can crawl under some Transformer sheets and catch a nap. A release date for this movie may be a lot further off than anticipated.
Last month CinemaBlend reported that Kurtzman and Orci had been brought on board to write. At that time original Transformers penman John Rogers had submitted his copy of the script. Now, a month later we’re still talking about new or additional writers being brought onto the film? Shouldn't we be hearing about the writers finishing up their work by now? It could just be a slow news day and HollywoodReporter.com is finally catching up on last month's second line news items. On the other hand this could be an omen that Transformers is truly on a very slow road to completion. A 2006 release date has been floating around for a while. That seems optimistic at best given that we’re still talking about who's going to write the script. It’s always nice to know that a studio is taking their time on a project to do it right, but it’s a short transformation to go from meticulous filmmaking to ingenuous foot-dragging. |
