Ready For Teddy?![]()
Leonardo Dicaprio has been around for many years, but has never truly gotten the respect he deserves. He was robbed of an award for his performance in What's Eating Gilbert Grape? and has been written off as a pretty boy for much of his career. Martin Scorsese has made some of the best films of all time, but is still without an Academy Award. What's wrong with this picture?
Misery loves company, and these two have bonded over their overlooked talents. According to Variety, Dicaprio and Scorsese will be reteaming to bring the Pulitzer Prize-winning book, "The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt" to the big screen. The book, by Edmund Morris, will be adapted into a screenplay by Nicholas Meyer. Dicaprio will star as the 26th U.S. President, with Scorsese directing. The movie will chronicle the crucial years of Teddy Roosevelt from his privileged beginnings, to leading the Rough Riders, to running the White House. "From the first page of the book, his life reads like a movie that requires a big bag of popcorn”, Meyer said. The Rise Of Theodore Roosevelt will mark the fourth collaboration between Leo and Marty, after Gangs Of New York, The Aviator and the upcoming film The Departed. Even when their movies together don't completely work, they are engaging enough to be seen. Just keep Leo away from the bars of soap and he should be okay. |
