Reboot Officially Titled The Amazing Spider-Man, Full Costume Revealed image

For as long as we've known that Sony would be hitting the restart button on the Spider-Man franchise, the question has been what to call it. For the last year we hear on Cinema Blend have been calling it "Marc Webb's Spider-Man", "The Untitled Spider-Man Reboot" and more. What we've always known is that the film wouldn't be called Spider-Man because it would be too easy to confuse it with Sam Raimi's film. Today we finally get an answer to the question.

Sony has announced via press release that the Webb directed webslinger movie will officially be titled The Amazing Spider-Man. To make things even better, the announcement was paired with the launch of the movie's new website, theamazingspiderman-movie.com/, which has the first look at Andrew Garfield in the full Spider-Man getup, this time with his mask on and webshooters pointed to the sky. 'The Amazing Spider-Man™' to Be Released July 3, 2012
CULVER CITY, Calif., Feb. 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Columbia Pictures announced today that the title of the next Spider-Man film will be The Amazing Spider-Man.

The studio simultaneously released a photo of Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man, the first shot of Garfield in the famous full mask and suit.

The film, which is now in production and is being shot entirely in 3D, will be released on July 3, 2012. The film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field. The film is directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt and Alvin Sargent and Steve Kloves based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Laura Ziskin, Avi Arad, and Matt Tolmach are producing the Marvel Entertainment production for Columbia Pictures. The executive producers are Stan Lee, Kevin Feige, and Michael Grillo.
