Resident Evil: Afterlife Date Pushed Forward To 2010 image
Last month, we reported that Resident Evil: Afterlife wouldn't see the light of day in 2010 as originally planned. Apparently, director Paul W.S. Anderson needed time to convert the movie to 3D. This would've pushed the movie back to January 2011, not a very welcoming time for horror flicks, especially when they're going up against Joss Whedon's Cabin in the Woods. Now, it seems, Anderson no longer needs the extra time for the processing, as the movie's release date has changed once again.

According to Shock Till You Drop, Resident Evil: Afterlife has joined us back here in 2010, with a planned release date of September 10. I'm not sure if that means Anderson sped the 3D processing up, meaning we're going to end up getting really bad 3D for fans of Captain EO or if it means the processing just didn't take all that long. This is odd considering that Cabin in the Woods got the same push back for the same reasoning but seems to be retaining that January date. Either way, we get to see Milla Jovovich in tattered clothes, chasing down zombies a few months early. And while it's not Oscar-worthy, it sure is fun as hell.
