Director Ridley Scott is currently in talks to direct an adaptation of The Wolf of Wall Street, based on the memoir by Jordan Belfort. Reported by Deadline, the film was initially a project two years ago for Leonardo DiCaprio and Martin Scorsese, however, the two decided to make Shutter Island instead. While DiCaprio is still attached, Scorsese has moved on, though may stay on as a producer through his Appian Way label. The script has been written by Sopranos scribe Terry Winter and is said to mix both comedy and drama in a story about the decadent life of stockbrokers in the 1990s.

I'm beginning to wonder if Ridley Scott has a terminal disease. For those keeping score, Scott's list of upcoming projects include prequels to the Alien franchise, the Monopoly movie, The Kind One, and a Gucci biopic, Stoker, and the YouTube documentary Life in a Day. He better stop picking up projects before I start feeling lazy.
