Having proven himself a comedic genius in Tropic Thunder, Robert Downey Jr. is ready to get more laughs. Variety says he’s set to star in the next comedy from The Hangover’s director Todd Phillips. It’s called Due Date and they’re pairing him up with bearded weirdness personified: Zach Galifianakis.

As the title suggests, RDJ will play an expectant father. The movie appears to be a road trip flick and a buddy comedy, with Downey and Galifianakis trapped in a car together as they race cross country to be there for the birth of Robert’s first child.

Iron Man 2 wrapped last week, which means after he’s done with Comic Con RDJ gets only a brief break. He’ll start shooting this next, in September with locations in Atlanta, Arizona, and Los Angeles.
