Robots Hit The Streets In New Transformers: Dark Of The Moon TV Spot![]()
Coming just two weeks after the big Super Bowl spot, the new TV ad for Transformers: Dark of the Moon that aired during the Daytona 500 last night didn't reveal a whole lot of new footage. And yet, somehow, it seemed just as impressive, the new shots giving a better sense of how the robots take to the streets of Chicago this time around, and the voiceover from John Turturro's character-- "Years from now they're gonna ask us, where were you when they took over the planet"-- giving an appropriately epic feel. And that shot of Bumblebee transforming on a serene seaside road? Not bad at all. Take a look below.
Of course, I couldn't help but also notice that Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, the former Victoria's Secret model replacing Megan Fox as the love interest, has her mouth wide open in all three shots she appears in, looking more like a flesh-and-blood blow-up doll than an actual human. But her glassy eyed affect will be probably be balanced by Shia LaBeouf, who for better or for worse seems very at home chasing down giant robots and dodging fireballs. Transformers: Dark of the Moon opens July 1, and will likely feel interminable and silly when not chopped up until 30-second TV spots. Enjoy this part while it lasts! |
