Robert Rodriguez is resurrecting the Predator movies for Fox, according to various sources including Variety, IESB, and Bloody Digusting. They’re calling it a “reboot”, which is Hollywoodspeak for “we’re gonna remake this bitch and there’s nothing you can do about it.”

Exactly when he’ll get around to doing Predator remains unknown. Attentive readers may recall that back in March he told us that he would soon be shooting Machete, a spin-off based on the same-named fake trailer which played during Grindhouse, and starred Danny Trejo as a knife-weilding, Mexican day laborer turned assassin. Today Robert confirmed again that they’ll start shooting Machete this June, which must mean Predator is somewhere on the back burner along with Nerveracker, a sci-fi movie he’s supposed to be doing for Weinstein Co.
