Ron Howard To Direct My Stroke of Insight, Wants Jodie Foster To Star![]()
Over the summer, Ron Howard got back to his roots directing The Dilemma, a comedy starring Vince Vaughn and Kevin James. Though he started his directing career making movies like Night Shift and Parenthood, the 90s and 2000s were filled with Howard dramas like Apollo 13, A Beautiful Mind, and Frost/Nixon. Apparently the change in tone is only temporary.
Deadline reports that Ron Howard has signed on to direct My Stroke of Insight. Based on the book of the same name by Dr. Jull Bolte Taylor, the story is a memoir that recounts the author's recovery from a stroke. The script is being written by Semi Chellas and Howard wants Jodie Foster, who hasn't been in a movie since 2008's Nim's Island, to star, though she isn't officially attached. Howard also recently signed on to direct an adaptation of Stephen King's Dark Tower series. I must say that I am impressed with Howard's range, as very few directors can dabble in as many genres as he does. The same guy who directed Backdraft also made How The Grinch Stole Christmas, Ed TV, and The Da Vinci Code. Are all of his films winners? No they are not. But you have to respect a guy who is both willing and able to stretch his abilities. |
