The Roommate Trailer Is Single White Female In College

In 1992, Barbet Schroeder directed Single White Female, starring Bridget Fonda and Jennifer Jason Leigh. While certainly not a film you put in a "best of the year" list, it was an effective thriller about stalkers and weird roommates. Apparently someone recently watched it and decided that there were far too few annoying college kids.

Yahoo! has premiered the first trailer for The Roommate and, as I intimated above, it's basically Single White Female in a dormitory. Things start off all nice and sweet, the two lead girls, played by Minka Kelly and Leighton Meester, getting along famously, talking about sharing clothes. Then Meester begins to freak out and tear out people's earrings and her mother says that she is on medication - everything you've seen 20 times before. I would say that perhaps there is more to the film than what's in the trailer, but I can all but guarantee that there's actually less.
