It seems Rounders 2 is a possiblity. This should go over big with the poker nerds on our pocast, does anyone else care? Or am I the only guy left in America who doesn’t like to gamble?

The news comes from PokerListings.com where they scored interviews with Matt Damon and one the writers of Rounders David Levien. It was Levien who told them he and Brian have been kicking around ideas for the sequel. Says David, “We've been concentrating on Rounders 2 lately; Ideas are percolating.”

Should those ideas actually turn into er… coffee it sounds like they’ll have no trouble talking the old cast into coming back. Matt Damon says they had a blast on the first one and, “everybody would probably come back.” The original Rounders starred Matt Damon and Edward Norton in the story of a reformed gambler forced into returning to the game of big stakes poker to help his friend pay off loan sharks.

If there’s a roadblock here it’s in finding the money to make it. Rounders is incredibly popular with the poker crowd but it’s not exactly Oceans 11. Slapping the Rounders name in front of a “2” isn't going to sell enough tickets which means finding someone willing to pour money into it could be a challenge, no matter who’s involved or how good the idea is.
