Mickey Rourke must be a big fan of Jason Statham. He's already co-starring with the guy in the upcoming 13, a remake of the French crime thriller, and now he's joining the cast of The Expendables, which features Statham, Sylvester Stallone, Jet Li, Randy Couture and Dolph Lundgren as a group of mercenaries working in South America.

Rourke won't quite be one of the guys-- he's playing an arms dealer who helps the mercenaries on their South American mission. Variety notes that Stallone, who's also writing and directing the picture, lent Rourke a hand during one of the low points of his career, offering him a role in Get Carter in 2000. Not sure how Rourke will use that potential Oscar when he's tramping around the jungle, but the idea of a bromance between him and Statham is enough to make me look forward to this one.
